| Art: | Masterprogramm |
| Inhalt: | Landscape Architecture Design Simulation: The main focus of the programme is not the acquisition of new software skills but rather the integration of cutting-edge modeling and visualisation technologies as design tools within the field of large-scale landscape architecture. The course of studies is intended to be completed over one academic year and is divided into modules. The modular structure allows a concentration on individual themes, which can be combined within the framework of an individual project as the concluding synthesis module. |
| Ziele: | Through intensive work with latest software in modeling and visualisation, students will be able to achieve complex design tasks and develop new forms of landscape design. The chosen CAD programmes (i.e. Rhino) are particularly appropriate for the visualisation of both detailed and large-scale landscape designs and offer the possibility for export to computer-steered milling machines capable of producing 3D physical models. An above average knowledge in the area of 3D GIS and the use of photography and video as illustrative as well as design tools round out this goal-oriented course offering. |
| Berufliche Perspektiven: | Together with architects, urban planners and city authorities, graduates will be able to illustrate and communicate their design ideas professionally. You will be capable of executing complex design tasks as well as developing new forms of design methodology. You will also be able to handle current issues efficiently and experimentally and learn how to apply them in a practice-oriented manner. |
| Programmstruktur: | The Master of Advanced Studies in Landscape Architecture (MAS LA) is divided into 7 theme modules and a concluding synthesis module. The entire course of studies stretches over two semesters. The modules focus on the practice oriented use of current CAAD / CAAM technologies in the area of landscape architecture. Each module begins with a phase where new techniques are learned. In this phase, individual exercises are connected to current issues in landscape architecture. In the second part of the module, participants grapple with complex problems, which will be discussed during a concluding presentation within the framework of a panel discussion with a group of experts. The students are challenged to go beyond the boundaries of conventional domains and test the tools in analysis, design, and visualisation. Each module starts on a Friday, and lectures are held only on Fridays (full day) and Mondays (half day). During the week we offer office hours for individual questions on Wednesday afternoons. Please note that final presentations and / or additional workshops may also be scheduled on Wednesdays. |
