Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) und Master of Business Administration (MBA) are continuing education programmes. They are generally aimed at executives and specialists with an academic background who work in companies, in universities or in the public administration. They require a master degree (MSc, MA) and professional experience or an equivalent educational status. In individual cases, however, they can follow on directly from a master’s degree.

MAS and MBA programmes correspond to 60−90 ECTS credits and generally last one year (full-time courses) or two years (part-time courses while working). Those who successfully complete the course are granted the academic title of 'Master of Advanced Studies ETH in... (MAS ETH …)',  or 'Master of Business  Administration  ETH  in… (MBA ETH …)'.
